24th September 2005 - Colchester 367 Euro Meeting

An early start this morning as I have two events to attend. A short run north from home brings me to Colchester – the oldest town in Great Britain – where members of Colchester 367 are celebrating their Euro 19 Weekend. Although they are a Table of fifteen, 45 guests descended on them. I had the pleasure of meeting with and addressing the guests at a Civic Reception with the Mayor of Colchester in the Mayor’s Parlour.

These weekends are absolutely great fun to host or attend and I have yet to hear of one that wasn’t a resounding success. They create international bonds that last lifetimes – I regularly speak with past Tablers that still retain their links with European and International friends and still visit for reunions annually. Well done to everybody involved in Colchester – not just for organising such a brilliant weekend, but also for winning the Eurovision Title this year!!
