Chelmsford Round Table; Chelmsford Tindal Round Table and Chelmsford 41 Club

Richard was invited to attend the annual Fellowship Meeting between the two Chelmsford Round Tables and their 41 Club. Held in The County Hotel in the centre of Chelmsford over fifty past and present members enjoyed an evening of true fun and fellowship.

The evening started with a traditional ‘panic’ as the forty nine booked places were taken and still people arrived… however, all settled down and space was also found for National Sales Officer, Sean McCormick who had correctly pre-booked, but had arrived late.

An ample meal was enjoyed and Richard opened formal proceedings with his third induction of a Chelmsford Tindal New Member in just three months! Duncan Cameron was welcomed into the Fellowship of our Association as Richard spoke eloquently updating the audience on the award to Immediate Past 41 Club Chairman, John Spence of both the Marchesi Medal and his OBE. Richard continued his update to include FTE; Marchesi House; Membership; his year to date and the Graffiti and Probation Service initiative. Richard’s speech was well received and he was able to relax and ‘enjoy’ the deliveries of The Rev – Elwyn Cockett, who is Chaplain to West Ham United FC.

Following a question and answer session with Elwyn and some vigorous fining by three Master at Arms (one from each club) the bar summoned a number of attendees who drank ‘til the early hours remembering those that had gone before.

An outstanding night was enjoyed by all.
