March 2006 - Chelmsford Tindal Ladies’ Night
Richard joined with over one
hundred other guests to help celebrate Ladies’ Night with members of
Chelmsford Tindal Round Table, Ladies’ Circle and their friends.
Richard’s attendance was in support of his friend David Campbell – the
Table Chairman - and unusually enabled him to take a back seat away from
the top table.
An excellent drinks reception and meal were followed by relatively short
speeches from David (given his usual verboseness!) and Circle Chairman,
Jan Robinson, before dancing to a live singer and a disco saw the
evening pass at a great rate.
Richard’s low profile didn’t prevent him from involvement in the
evening’s events, however. He had to plead a case in defence of one of
David’s many jackets that were threatened with emulsion as part of a
very creative interruption. David’s selection of ‘Table’ jackets,
including his newly acquired PLC Jacket, had been removed from his home
and he was presented with a more refined and less gaudy type. He then
had to answer questions correctly to prevent any ‘damage’ to his prized
collection. Everything went well until the final round when his black DJ
met with an emulsion filled roller as he failed to correctly name the
waitresses that had served him earlier in proceedings!!
A fantastic night that was enjoyed by many visiting members of Area 33
Essex including - Area Chairman, Paul Marsh, Area Vice Chairman, Brad
Wheeler and Area President Jon Sage.
Pictured is David in his new, more ‘subtle’, jacket with his partner
Lizzy.
