About Us

As we come to the end of another Table year, I want to thank the PLC for being the most dedicated, professional and hard working team that I have ever had the pleasure to be associated with, either in Table or in the work arena. They have made my job easy, by doing theirs so well. The highlight was the National President’s Ball in London, where, under the direction of Natalie Woolnough, we put on a night never to be forgotten. Natalie has worked tirelessly on a number of events and goes about her role with an efficiency that can only be admired. Mat Osborne once again showed us why he is Round Table’s ‘Mr Entertainer’. I can't help but think that you should do this for a living... My i-pod is always at your disposal.

Many have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to give our exotically named and perfectly formed National President the platform on which to make a difference. Steve ‘The Enforcer’ Woolnough - with his accuracy with a rifle and his uncanny ability at unarmed combat, few disagree with Richard after meeting him. Kevin ‘Mr Dependable’ Griffiths - sorted the transport and is quite simply the best Tabler I have ever met. Jennie ‘Mrs Organised’ Griffiths - managed the diary and is the only woman alive that can control Richard.

Mike ‘Mr Minute’ Routledge - as Secretary, has recorded information that will no doubt come back and haunt us in years to come. David ‘The Ref’ Campbell - Sponsorship, Media, PR, but most importantly, chequeing everything we right, to ensure their are know mistakes. Graham ‘The Negotiator’ Villiers - a scary man in charge of the money - glad he is on our side. Terry ‘Mr Techie’ Porter - our webmaster... Thank you for your friendship and counsel... I did listen... honest... Paul and Sue Jay ‘Mr & Mrs Sales’  I dread to think of the number of miles that you put on your car over the last few years. Your dedication knows no bounds. Brad ‘Mr Fixit’ Wheeler - our Area Link and sage counsel. Not forgetting our reps and liaisons Colin, Chris, Huw, Len, Arawn, Dave and Trigger for their support.

A little word about our National President. Many have seen him grow into the role. His performance at the 80th Anniversary Lunch in front of the Duke of Edinburgh was truly great and on behalf of the PLC, thank you for allowing us to support you over the last couple of years.

On a personal note, my involvement in Table is coming to an end as I leave on the age rule in Cardiff. When Graham Drummond closes the AGM, you may note a number of grey or bald headed guys standing around looking a little bit lost. They will have a tear in their eye for what the future holds and a smile on their lips as they recall some great times and for that, I would like to thank each and every Tabler and Circler for making being a part of this great organisation such a joy.

Finally, I would like to thank Arawn Johnson. I have no idea why. I would just like to thank him.

Yours in Table

Jim Conway
PLC Chairman.
