Welcome to rdbi.co.uk and thank
you for visiting - especially if you are returning!
As time
marches on and we enter the final quarter of the Round Table
year I thought it would be prudent to summarise some of the
magnificent progress that we have made this year.
The
installation of the rolling three-year plan has enabled us
to maintain and report on a continuing vision for the
Association. Both the National Executive and the National
Council are able to get update and insight into where we are
and how we are progressing on clear objectives that won’t
fall off the agenda as the Presidency changes hands.
Our PR
initiative has seen us reported in the national, regional
and local media across multiple channels and again – as a
three-year investment – I look forward to seeing the fruits
of our labours putting the name of Round Table and our
activities firmly in the minds of our potential audiences.
Coupled
with the PR activity has been our re-branding exercise. This
initiative was geared around presenting the Association as
more youthful and forward thinking. Once again, I believe
that we have achieved this goal and I hope that we will
embrace the new branding to present a ‘single face’ of the
Association to people. In doing this we can differentiate
ourselves from other service organisations; develop trust
and loyalty with our audiences; reduce our marketing costs
and extend the Association to enable us to continue to grow.
These are just some of the many benefits that will be
accrued and over time the return on the investment will be
multiplied.
As the
year draws to its conclusion I find myself indebted to so
many people for their help, support, cash, comfort and
guidance. In no specific order but in the great tradition of
The Oscars (we are after all at a Hollywood themed National
Conference!) I wish to thank your National Executive. They
have worked extremely hard on your behalf and must take
enormous credit for the health and direction of the
Association as we move into a new year. John Handley and the
team at Marchesi House – they too provide a great service to
us all. My principal sponsors Lloyds TSB (in the guise of
John Spence OBE) and Tarn Print (my good friend Eric LaRoche)
and finally and without exception every member of my
Presidential Liaison Committee. You will rarely have seen me
without one or a number of them at my side – whether they
are booking dates in my diary, organising my ball, getting
me to your events, minuting meetings, liaising with our
family associations or just being my Minder they have been
outstanding and I thank them all most sincerely for helping
me to enjoy this fantastic year as your National President.
It truly
has been a great challenge but also great fun to serve as
your National President. It has, of course, been a real
honour and privilege and I encourage every one of you –
whether your Round Table career is just starting – or if you
are getting long in the tooth, to take up the challenge and
grow this Association in any way you can. It is The King
of Clubs.
